Ben Everard is an American film and television producer. He founded Everard Entertainment in Los Angeles in 2023.[1] To date, he has produced seven studio films.[2]
His credits include Lights Out (2016), The Laundromat (2019), Yes Day (2021), Pain Hustlers (2023), and Family Switch (2023).[3] Everard's upcoming releases include Way of the Warrior Kid[4] and The Man With the Bag.[5] Everard is a published author, having written the children's book "Oh, the Places You've Been,"[6] as well as Op-Eds for media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal.[7]
Career
[edit]Everard produced Way of the Warrior Kid, an upcoming film based on the book series by Jocko Willink, directed by McG and starring Chris Pratt.[8] The project was sold to Skydance Media in one of the biggest deals at the Cannes Film Festival in the past five years, and it will be distributed by Apple.[9] Everard was introduced to Willink through a mutual friend and visited his Victory MMA gym in San Diego to acquire the rights initially.[10]
Everard also produced The Man With The Bag, an upcoming Christmas film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alan Ritchson, and Awkwafina, directed by Adam Shankman and financed by Amazon Studios.[11] The film additionally stars Kyle Mooney, Liza Koshy, and Ken Jeong.[12] Other producers include Dan Spilo, Lawrence Grey, and Reg Tigerman.[13] Everard is also developing "Trick Shot" in partnership with Stephen Curry and Unanimous Media.[14]
Everard produced Yes Day (2021) and Family Switch (2023) for Netflix, both starring Jennifer Garner.[15] Yes Day registered sixty-one million accounts in its first four weeks of viewership, making it the most-watched family film in Netflix history at the time.[16] Everard was inspired to pursue a film adaptation of the book after his wife saw Jennifer Garner post on Instagram about having a "yes day" with her children.[17] A sequel is now in development.[18]
Everard served as an executive producer on Pain Hustlers (2023), directed by David Yates and starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans,[19] and on The Laundromat (2019), directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, and Antonio Banderas.[20] He also executive produced Lights Out (2016), directed by David F. Sandberg and produced in partnership with James Wan.[21] The film garnered a box office gross of nearly $150 million[22] on a budget of $5 million.[23]
Earlier in his career, Everard worked as an attorney at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in Los Angeles.[24]
