European Capital of Democracy (ECoD) is a Europe-wide initiative launched in 2022. It is operated by the ECoD Non-Profit Organisation, based in Vienna. Every year, a jury of European citizens selects the next title-holding city to host the Democracy Programme for the upcoming year.

European Capitals of Democracy throughout the years are: - 2023/2024 - Barcelona - 2024/2025 - Vienna - 2026 - Cascais
