From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Denise (Nafisa) Abbott-Johnson grew up in Bergen County New Jersey and enjoyed hobbies that included rollerskating and abstract painting. Her paintings are traded under Art by Nafisa. She is a descendant of the industrious Abbott family that included Robert S. Abbott (her great great great uncle) who founded the Chicago Defender in 1905. Her Abbott Family's entrepreneurial spirit proudly lives on 120 years later with Denise contributing AbbIT Communications (AIT) to the family legacy.

Background

After 10 years of working in the healthcare industry, Denise moved to the Telecom industry in 2000. Denise’s career in the telecom/networking world began with MCI WorldCom bridging the gap between business customers and their Provisioning, NOC and PSTN switch issues. In 2002, Denise graduated as a Network Engineer from The Chubb Institute in Jersey City, NJ. Her experience ranged from: Allegiance Telecom as a Sales Engineer- provisioning integrated circuits; ATX Communications as a Project Manager/Implementation Specialist and a series of experiences at Verizon, Inc. as a Fiber Optic Construction Splicer, Installation and Maintenance Technician, Dispatch Coordinator and Fiber Network Technician providing 1st and 2nd level support to the outside Fiber Technicians.  Denise obtained her Degree in Computer Science and Information Systems from Pace University in New York, NY in 2008 and now holds certifications in Fiber optics, Network Engineering, and Telecommunications.

On the side in 2005, Denise established PC Solutions that began with general computer house calls and built special order gaming computers. [1] Over time she realized that her skills, education and experiences added a much needed human connection between people and emerging technologies. Today that human connection is AbbIT Communications, LLC (AIT). The company bears the trade name, AbbIT Communications, LLC (AIT) which combines the family surname with IT to symbolize the company’s dedication to connecting people and Information Technology with a human touch while keeping the family name alive.
