Comment: From the provided sources and references, it doesn't appear the subject of this draft is notable enough, particularly as a musician. In addition, sourcing itself is inconsistent; with links to the musician's website, band's websites and discogs. Please add more reliable and independent sources to fully establish the notability of the subject. NeoGaze (talk) 21:59, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Career
[edit]Dan Lorenzo formed Hades in 1978[3] with Paul Smith and started playing shows in Paramus, NJ performing cover versions of Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, KISS, The Knack, and Ted Nugent. Hades opened for Twisted Sister at the Soap Factory in 1982[4] and recorded two songs for Megaforce Records' Born To Metalize[5] compilation released in 1984. In 1985, vocalist Alan Tecchio, Guitarist Scott LePage, and bassist Jimmy Schulman joined the band and along with Dan and drummer Tom Coombs, self-released The Cross/Widow's Mite single in 1986[6]. In 1986 the band signed with Torrid Records and released their debut album, Resisting Success in 1987 and the follow up, If At First You Don't Succeed, in 1988[7]. The band broke up for the first time after an ill-fated 1989 European tour[8].
Dan formed Non-Fiction with Dan Nastasi from Mucky Pup and Dog Eat Dog, releasing an EP on Arena Records in 1990[9], a label owned by Glen Evans from Nuclear Assault. Alan Tecchio re-joined Dan in Non-Fiction and the band released their debut album, Preface, on Grand Slamm Records in 1991 and their sophomore album, In The Know, in 1992 then toured Europe with Overkill on the "World of Hurt Tour" in 1993.
Hades released the full length album Exist to Resist in 1995, made up of primarily songs written before the 1989 breakup[10].
Non-Fiction's third and final album, It's A Wonderful Lie... was released on Steamhammer Records in 1996.
Hades reunited in the late 1990s and went on to release three albums on Metal Blade Records, $avior$elf in 1999, The Downside in 2000 and DamNation in 2001, playing shows up and down the East Coast before splitting up again shortly thereafter.
Dan then formed The Cursed with Bobby Elsworth of Overkill, releasing one album, Room Full of Sinners on Screaming Ferret Wreckords in 2007.
In 2017 Dan formed the band Vessel of Light with vocalist Nathan Opposition (Ancient Wisdom), bassist Jimmy Schulman (Hades, ex-Attacker), and drummer Ron Lipnicki (Hades, ex-Overkill)[11], releasing a self-titled EP the same year and their debut full-length Woodshed in 2018, both on Argonauta Records. Vessel of Light's sophomore album, Thy Serpent Rise, was released in 2019 and their third album, Last Ride, in 2020 both on Nomad Eel Records.
Collaborating with drummer Johnny Kelly of Type O Negative and Quiet Riot Dan formed Patriarchs in Black, releasing Reach for the Scars in 2022 via MDD Records featuring a number of guest bassists and vocalists including Karl Agell known for singing on Corrosion of Conformity's album Blind (Corrosion of Conformity album), Dewey Bragg (Kill Devil Hill) and Jimmy Gnecco (Ours). Their second release, My Veneration (2023) featured vocal performances by Darryl McDaniels of RUN-DMC, Mark Sunshine of Riot God and Unida, Rob Traynor of Black Water Rising and others, as well as Dave Neabore of Dog Eat Dog on bass[12]. Patriarchs in Black released their third full length, Visioning[13], on Metalville Records in 2024 with vocal performances by Kyle Thomas of Exhorder, Jason McMaster of Dangerous Toys, Watchtower and others. In December of 2024, Brutal Planet Records released an EP entitled Covered in Black featuring a number of cover songs recorded by Patriarchs in Black. The band recently completed work on their fourth full length album, expected to be released summer of 2025 on Metalville Records.
