Blood of Enogie is a Nigerian epic historical drama series created by Charles Uwagbai and produced by ROK Studios in collaboration with Creative Unit Studios. First filmed in 2020 in Benin City, the series spans eight seasons (104 episodes) and explores themes of royal succession, forbidden love, betrayal, and supernatural prophecy in a fictional pre-colonial Benin kingdom.

Production

Production wrapped up in early 2020 under Uwagbai’s guidance, featuring a “star-studded” cast, authentic Edo cultural details, and expansive epic storytelling.^[1] In a May 2020 interview, Uwagbai revealed the challenge of filming over 1,250 script scenes in 78 days amid the onset of COVID-19 lockdowns, while maintaining cultural integrity on set.^[2]

Plot

Following the sudden death of a revered Enogie (Duke), political unrest erupts in the kingdom. A hidden heir, unaware of his royal lineage, must navigate court intrigues, supernatural omens, and rival factions to reclaim his birthright.

Creator Charles Uwagbai later released *Charlie Charlie* (2021), a social thriller about human trafficking and money laundering, starring crossover cast members and reinforcing the socially conscious themes introduced in *Blood of Enogie*.^[5]
