Arjan Kozica is a German organisational scientist, academic administrator, and has been professor (W3) at the ESB Business School of the Reutlingen University since 2015. In addition, he is Vice‑President for studies, teaching and continuing education in the same institution and private lecturer for the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich.[1][2][3][4][5]

Military career

After graduating from the Officer School of the German Air Force, he studied Economic and Organisation Sciences at the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich and received his Master’s degree in 2003.[1][3] During his 15 years of service in the German Air Force, he proceeded to receive his PhD and become a lecturer and research assistant at the Senior Military Academy of the German armed forces.[1][3][6] Since 2015, Kozica has served as part of the German military reserve force, achieving the rank of Major of the reserve.[6][7]

Professional Career

Outside the military, Kozica has been active as an organisational development and change management coach and consultant since 2019.[8][9]

Academic career

Building on his work as lecturer and research assistant for the Bundeswehr, Arjan Kozica was appointed Professor of Organisation and Leadership at the ESB Business School, Reutlingen University in 2015.[1] He received his qualification as professor in 2016 and was assigned as private lecturer for the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich in 2017.[1][2][4][5] In the same year, Kozica became executive program advisor for a cooperative MBA programme for officers and professionals.[10][11][12][13] As of 2022 he holds the position of Vice‑President for studies, teaching and continuing education at the Reutlingen University[2] and as editor of the journal OrganisationsEntwicklung (Organisational Development).[6][14]

Kozica’s research interests include organisational change and transformations of working environments, leadership, sustainability and economic ethics.[1][2][5][6][15] Together with Philipp D. Schaller, he has been a central figure in the research of Experimental Organisational Development.
