Comment: Autobiography -> conflict of interest editing (see WP:AUTO. Also, subject of article does not fulfil the notability requirements. Lijil (talk) 21:39, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
Comment: This article doesn't show that Arellano is notable. The article in La Voz is somewhat significant coverage in a presumably reliable and independent source, but it's recent (March 2025) and the only source about Arellano being an agnet. I cannot access the radio source, and the one about empanadas doesn't contribute to notability for being a football agent. May be a case of WP:TOOSOON. Lijil (talk) 21:26, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
Jorge Ariel Arellano (born 29 November 1975 in Mar del Plata, Argentina) is a former professional footballer and a FIFA-licensed football agent. He played for clubs such as River Plate, Arsenal de Sarandí, and Olimpia in Paraguay, before continuing his career in Spain and Portugal. He is currently based in Europe, where he works as a talent scout and agent specializing in Latin American players transitioning to European leagues.
Playing career
[edit]Arellano came through the youth system at Club Atlético River Plate and was part of the club's early 1990s reserve and youth squads, sharing teams with notable players such as Hernán Díaz and Ariel Ortega.[1] He later played in the top divisions in Paraguay and second-tier leagues in Spain and Portugal.
Post-playing career
[edit]After retiring, Arellano became a FIFA-licensed agent.[2] He has been involved in connecting young football players from South America with clubs in Europe, particularly in emerging markets in countries such as Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic.
Media appearances
[edit]Arellano has been featured in various media outlets for his work in football and entrepreneurship. He was the subject of a profile by La Voz del Interior on his role in taking young Argentine players to emerging European leagues.[3] He was also featured in an interview by Spanish station Onda Vasca,[4] and profiled by Czech radio for promoting Argentine food culture abroad, particularly empanadas.[5]
