Anthony Fanzo is an American staffing executive and entrepreneur. He is the President and CEO of The Bachrach Group (TBG), a national recruiting firm headquartered in New York City, and a Founding Partner at Jackson Lucas, a retained executive search firm. Under his leadership, his companies generate over $100 million in annual revenue and operate in more than 25 U.S. markets.

Career
[edit]Fanzo began his recruiting career in the 1990s, placing C-level talent across finance and technology. By the early 2000s, he developed a reputation as a subject matter expert on hiring trends, with quotes appearing in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal[1] and Newsday.[2]
In 2013, Fanzo joined The Bachrach Group as Chief Operating Officer. He became President in 2019 and was named CEO in 2023. During this time, he helped expand the company’s national presence and oversaw key strategic initiatives. In 2017, he was interviewed by Crain’s New York Business about TBG’s entry into construction, engineering, and manufacturing recruitment.[3] In 2021, he was cited again by Crain’s for leading a major COVID-19 staffing contract with the City of New York.[4] In 2021 Fanzo was instrumental in working with New York City on the contract tracer project, The Bachrach Group under his leadership filled nearly 2000 jobs for the City of New York.
Fanzo was quoted in multiple Wall Street Journal stories in 2023 and 2024 discussing candidate behavior and resume fraud.[5][6]
Other ventures
[edit]In 2022, Fanzo co-founded SourceLab Search, a TBG division focused on specialized verticals. The firm grew rapidly in its first year, with coverage in industry outlets like Hunt Scanlon Media.[7]
He is also a Founding Partner at Jackson Lucas, a retained executive search firm specializing in finance, legal, and real estate. Under his leadership, they moved into many U.S. markets and recently planted flags in Europe and Australia.
Recognition

In 2024, Fanzo pranked his company The Bachrach Group and they were featured in a long segment of the television show Impractical Jokers, which was filmed at the firm’s Manhattan headquarters.[10]
Publications and philanthropy

One of his collections, Recruiter Campfire Stories: True Tales from the Staffing Trenches, was published in 2024, with all proceeds donated to City Harvest, a nonprofit focused on food rescue and hunger relief in New York City.[11]
