Alexander Nieves (born 1999) is an El Salvadorian Italian American nonprofit executive and community organizer. He is best known as the co-founder and Executive Director of Nieves Ministries, a nonprofit organization based in Colorado that focuses on community service, cultural events, education, and security services.
Early life and background
[edit]Alexander Nieves was born in 1999 in the United States. He has El Salvadorian and Italian American heritage. Born with limited vision in one eye, he grew up in a low-income family in Colorado and has shared his experiences of overcoming challenges to help others in his community.
Career
[edit]Nieves co-founded Nieves Ministries, a nonprofit organization providing services to the Denver and Aurora communities. The ministry operates multiple programs, including:
- Pinnacle Defense, a nonprofit security company that offers security guard services and community safety programs.
- Vertex Virtual Academy, an educational ministry providing high school diploma pathways.
- Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Colorado, which organizes cultural events such as the "Viva La Isla Del Encanto Festival."
He also co-founded Pinnacle Defense with Jeremiah Banks, which promotes safety through trained security staff for events and businesses.
Personal life
[edit]Nieves married on March 15, 2020. He is known for his commitment to volunteer work and for running his nonprofit efforts as an unpaid community service.
