  2. ^ The Greek Embassy to the Holy See is located outside Vatican territory, in Rome.
  3. ^ Greece does not recognize Kosovo's declaration of independence, and therefore does not maintain formal diplomatic relations with it. Nonetheless, it maintains a liaison office in Pristina, which functions as a de facto embassy, and is headed by a diplomat of ambassadorial rank.
  4. ^ The consulate general closed down prior to the renaming of the Republic of Zaire into the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1997.
